Sandra Daniels is a living success story. At a young age, Daniels knew she did not deserve the abuse she endured at home. She emancipated herself at the age of sixteen and used homelessness as her motivation. Daniels was not a stranger to hard knocks and saw the array of odd jobs she had to take as an opportunity to grow. What she learned was that she had a gift for sales. At the age of twenty Ms. Daniels landed a job in the car industry as a sales representative, a position that would change her life. It didnít take long for her to top the chart in car sales. Being an award winning salesperson brought her much notoriety but no promotions. It wasnít long before Daniels realized she had met the glass ceiling. She was young, female and African-American. Daniels knew if she was going to change her destiny she would have to author it. In 1996 Asante Motors opened its doors and Daniels has never looked back. The first black woman to own a car dealership in St. Louis, Daniels has garnered a sterling reputation both as a business entrepreneur and community activist who gives back.
